What is a Continuing Care Retirement Community?

A Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) is an age-restricted community offering residential living in single-family homes or apartments, on-site dining venues, a comprehensive variety of social and other services and amenities, and health care services including assisted living and skilled nursing.  This continuum of care – residential living, assisted living, skilled nursing, and memory support – offers residents security and peace of mind in knowing they have planned for their future and have provided for a better and longer retirement.

Does Continuing Life Communities have experience developing and operating CCRCs?

Beginning in 1991 with the opening of Morningside of Fullerton and continuing with the development of La Costa Glen Carlsbad and University Village Thousand Oaks, the company’s experienced management team has led the development of nearly 2,000 independent and health care residences.

As evidence of CLC’s success in helping residents “Live Better and Live Longer”, the company enjoys full occupancy and extensive wait lists at all its communities.  In addition to the market’s strong demand for the communities CLC develops and operates, the company has received numerous accolades from industry bodies recognizing the quality of design, construction and operating services the company consistently provides.

How much does it cost to live in a Continuing Life Community?

Like most CCRC communities, residents at CLC communities pay a repayable entrance fee at move in and a monthly service fee which includes dining, housekeeping, maintenance, transportation. landscaping, utilities, insurance and other expenses.  Entrance fees and monthly fees vary by community and by the type and size of the home a resident selects.  Please contact us to find out more about pricing at each of our locations.
